I would first like to thank all the band members who were a part of the audience on Saturday for the concerto competition live final auditions. I think that they would agree with me that we have never had this quality among the five finalists. Stunning and exceptional would not be hyperbole for the winners. I continue to be amazed at the level that high school musicians are attaining.

We will be using a small group of players to accompany the three winning soloists. Section leaders, if not already done, will be informing who will be performing the one-on-a-part accompaniments. For those people, please have the three new pieces downloaded and available for rehearsal on Thursday. We will be rehearsing the full band music from 7-8, then rehearse the accompaniments from 8-9. The order of the accompaniments will start with the largest number of players.
