The Woodlands Concert Band
Good Afternoon Band,

I hope everyone had a productive break and are ready to start preparation for the final concert. The title will be “I Love America XXV: Celebrating 250 years.” We will also be featuring the three winners of our concerto contest. You will hear three artistic level performances from these young musicians. They are:
3rd Place - Daniel Garcia (Saxophone) from Kempner High School
2nd Place - Will Cranston (Trombone) from George Ranch High School
1st Place - Gabriel Gonzalez (Bb Clarinet) from College Park High School

Here is the rehearsal order of the music for Thursday:

The Star-Spangled Banner – Balmages
Let Freedom Ring – Nowlin
Eternal Flame – Balmages
Victory at Sea - Bennett
America, the Beautiful – arr. Dragon
St. Louis Blues – Handy/Henderson
Texas Forever Fanfare - Montoya
The Stars and Stripes Forever

The only piece not here is Armed Forces Salute, and we are hoping to get one with a better version of the Space Force Anthem.

We will again be accompanying the soloists, one on a part. That music is found under the Music for Ensembles tab on the Current Concert Page. That music I:

Concerto for Concert Band and Trombone
Concerto No. 1 F minor Clarinet
Waignein Rhapsody
Only the small group will need to download this music. We will not rehearse these solos this week. That will start next week. There are very few really challenging places.

See everyone on Thursday,
Paul Worosello
